Vishy Vs Everybody! 2006

This event was the sequel to the hugely successful Vishy Vs Chennai 2005 and was held at the GRT Convention Center, Chennai on 8th October 2006.

This event was supported by Hutchison Essar, Internet Chess Club and Radio Mirchi.

Since the inaugural 2005 event had attracted participation from all over South India and in fact from across the world on the Internet, the 2006 edition was rebranded Vishy Vs Everybody!

Anand once again took on all comers in front of a packed audience of spectators and media. Some of his younger opponents had participated in Vishy Vs Chennai 2005 and one of them actually told Anand to "Watch out! I played you last year at this event and have been training all year to beat you!"

All the funds raised through the event went directly to Vidyasagar and while it was not feasable to host the Internet Edition of this event simultaneously, as was done in 2005, the ICC Internet Event will take place in April 2007, details of which will be posted on this website.
